In June, AMC pulled Nerdist founder Chris Hardwick’s talk show Talking with Chris Hardwick, and removed him from hosting network’s aftershow, The Talking Dead while it conducted an investigation relating to allegations of emotional and sexual abuse of actress Chloe Dykstra. AMC has revealed that Community star Yvette Nicole Brown will take over his duties on The Talking Dead, at least for now.
AMC told Deadline that Brown would “step in as an interim guest host of The Walking Dead Season 9 Preview Special on August 5 and Talking Dead when it returns following the premiere of Fear the Walking Dead on August 12,” while it finishes its investigation into Hardwick’s behavior. Brown will also take over for Hardwick at San Diego Comic-Con this week, and will moderate the network’s Hall H panels for The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead.
In June, actress Chloe Dykstra published a Medium post alleging emotional and sexual abuse from an ex-boyfriend, widely speculated to be Hardwick. Hardwick has since denied the allegations, and has seen himself distanced from places like AMC and the website he founded, Nerdist.
AMC’s zombie hit The Walking Dead is in its seventh season and flirting with 100 episodes. So how much longer can it go?
Creator Robert Kirkman, who writes the comic the show is based on and also serves as a producer, went on record saying he believes they’ll still be around five years from now — and possibly a good bit longer. In the latest issue of the comic, Kirkman mused about the longevity of the series. For Kirkman, he sees The Walking Dead going strong well into the early-to-mid 2020s.
Here’s an excerpt from his comment:
“It took us six seasons to get to 100. It won’t take us six years to get to 200 and that will take us to season… TWELVE. And we’ll still be ahead of the show at that point.'

During and interview The Walking Dead creator, Robert Kirkman, once again teased the end of the popular drama. He revealed that the series and comics will have different endings.
Kirkman said the following, according to The Wrap:
“I hope the show ends and the comics keep going. The comic was the comic before the show, so I try to maintain that. I know how I want to end ‘The Walking Dead’…I don’t want it on the show before I get it in my comic. If the show were to ever end at any point and the comic was still going, I would have to sit down with Scott and pretend I have no idea how to end it and then work with him to try and come up with a new ending.”
The Walking Dead will premiere its new season on October 23.

The Crypt Keeper is coming back to TV!
Tales From the Crypt is coming back to TV via TNT. M. Night Shyamalan (Don't let that scare you away) will be the man in charge of the new show that will be part of a two hour horror block on TNT. The show is set to premiere in the Fall of 2016.
In something that shouldn't come as too much of a surprise (unlike Glenn's maybe death) AMC has renewed The Walking Dead for a 7th season. Here's the full press release about the announcement from AMC.
The October 25th episode of “The Walking Dead” delivered 18.2 million viewers, 12 million adults 18-49 and 11.5 million adults 25-54 in live+3 ratings, which include three days of time-shifted viewing – each growing compared to last season’s corresponding episode #503. Last Sunday’s “Talking Dead” was its highest-rated episode ever that was not a premiere or a finale, delivering 7.3 million viewers, 4.6 million adults 18-49 and 4.7 million adults 25-54 in live+3.
“Thank goodness someone had a Magic 8-Ball with them in our many long internal meetings about these renewals. When, on the third shake, ‘without a doubt’ filled the murky blue screen, we knew we had to proceed with new seasons of ‘The Walking Dead’ and ‘Talking Dead,’” said Charlie Collier, president of AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios. “All joking aside, we are so proud to share these shows with fans who have been so passionate, communicative and engaged. We are grateful for and continually impressed by the talent, effort and excellence on continuous display by Robert Kirkman, Scott Gimple, Chris Hardwick and the many people with whom we partner to make these unique shows possible. The result: More Walking and Talking. Hooray.”

Nearly a year and a half after the producer and the agency took their first legal swing at the cable channel over alleged unpaid fees, self-dealing, gross receipts and more from The Walking Dead, they’re back today to take a new blockbuster-sized bite with some missing teeth. In a proposed amended complaint filed Tuesday, Frank Darabont and CAA claim that AMC have played even faster and looser with big money due to the producer from the five seasons-and-counting zombie apocalypse hit series.

Z Nation premieres Sept. 12 and although few have actually seen it many have decided it sucks or will suck. I have already read where people state that it's no "The Walking Dead. Of course it's not that's why it has a different title.
Why does the show have to be like or compared to The Walking Dead? I know that there are few zombie shows on television so the comparison is inevitable but is it fair? I love The Walking Dead but we all have to admit that at times it drags and can be depressing as all hell. If there is a zombie show that actually uses the word zombie, that's more heavy on the action and gore what's wrong with that?
Some worry that because it's brought to us by Asylum the same folks who brought us the Sharknado movies that it may be overly campy or overly ridiculous (like the concept of a zombie apocalypse is not ridiculous itself). That's an understandable worry given Asylum's track record. But then again it could be ridiculous or it could just be plain goofy fun.
I think it's possible to like different types of zombie shows. Look at it this way. Isn't it possible to love both the original Night of the Living Dead and Return of the Living Dead at the same time? Of course it is! Both zombie movies but very different in style but great in their own right. So it doesn't have to be an either or situation when it comes to The Walking Dead and Z Nation.
I'm going to give Z Nation a fair shot, hell it can't possibly be worse than Dominion and I watched that whole series so I will give Z Nation a shot. I suggest we all give it a shot and I write this as someone who hates fast zombies. I mean how can you resist a show with a zombie baby?

Cable network FX has decided to remove a poster for it's upcoming series "The Strain" because it simply creeped to many people out. My first thought was that was what a good poster for a horror series/movie is supposed to do. But anyway FX gave in to the public outcry and is removing the posters. Check out the poster below, do you think it was too creepy?
[ SOURCE ] Z Nation, a 13-episode zombie series, is coming to Syfy in Fall 2014. From production company The Asylum (Sharknado), the action-horror series depicts the epic struggle to save humanity after a zombie apocalypse. The series will be produced by The Asylum and sold internationally by Dynamic Television.
Z Nation is a dynamic ensemble drama that will plunge viewers into a fully-imagined, post-zombie America and take them on adventures with a diverse group of richly-drawn characters. Getting to know the reluctant heroes, their flaws, idiosyncrasies, and moral dilemmas will ultimately become the heart of the show.
Z Nation starts three years after the zombie virus has gutted the country, a team of everyday heroes must transport the only known survivor of the plague from New York to California, where the last functioning viral lab waits for his blood. Although the antibodies he carries are the world’s last, best hope for a vaccine, he hides a dark secret that threatens them all. With humankind’s survival at stake, the ragtag band embarks on a journey of survival across three thousand miles of rusted-out post-apocalyptic America.
Karl Schaefer (Eerie Indiana, Eureka, The Dead Zone) will serve as executive producer and showrunner.
Even those of us who are hard core The Walking Dead fans would have to admit that the second half of season four has been slow. Some of the character based episodes have been great but others have dragged. So tonight with only three episodes left I for one believe that the show will pick up the pace tonight on it's way to a great finale. What do you think?
