5 takeaways from Z Nation episode 6 Resurrection Z

I know I promised to never watch Z Nation again after episode 5 Z Nado but I'm a zombie fan so I gave the show another try. You know what I was rewarded with the best episode since the pilot in my humble opinion. Not just a good episode but one with a shocking ending, so if you have not seen episode 6 stop reading now! Here are my 45 takeaways from Episode 6, Resurrection Z

1. The crazed preacher must be a requirement for all zombie movies, books, and comics.

2. I might actually be starting to like Murphy. Yeah he's still an ahole and a coward but it looks like he's starting to get this whole surviving as group thing.

3. Obviously having a "doctor" can get you into a lot of places in Z Nation.

4. This episode had just the right balance of the humor, horror, and good storytelling that I think the writers of Z Nation are looking for. Let's hope this is not the show's peak.

5. LAST WARNING! If you have not saw episode 6 stop reading now now! The commercials for the show teased all week long that one of the group would die. Many expected Doc or Mack, who would have guessed that it would have been the group's leader Charlie? To get to the 6 episode mark and kill a character that people have now become invested in takes a lot of balls and to the credit of the writers they did it and did it unceremoniously. That was a great moment and Kellita Smith provided us with some good acting with her reactions to Charlie being bitten and when she gave him "mercy".

We will see where the writers of Z Nation go after Charlie's death. Does Warren automatically assume command of the groups, what will be her mental state, will there be a power struggle within the group, do others step up into leadership positions. I can't wait to find out!

Why Syfy can't air Z Nation Episode 5 Z Nado

Syfy can not air the next episode of Z Nation titled Z Nado. Why? Because #1 It will destroy the show, and #2 it will make us idiots who defended it early on the laughing stocks of zombie fans everywhere.

Back to reason #1. Syfy has to understand that by airing the Z Nado episode they will be giving credence to those who feared that this is what the show would be, and hated it before it aired. After episode #4 which was bad, Z Nation's producers only had two choices. Come back with a great episode or come back with more crap. It's obvious they chose the latter. The commercial for the episode just made me slap my forehead and wonder why in the hell did I think Syfy would do a good zombie show.

I wasn't expecting an Emmy winning show but an episode titled Z Nado? It started off us a fun action filled show and seems determined to get more wackier and goofier each week as zombie fans feared. I guess they were right and fools like me who were willing to give the show a chance were wrong.

After episode 5 airs I'm done with Z Nation and I'm sure many others will be too. Z Nation will have finally "jumped the shark" and I and millions of others will jump ship.

5 takeaways from Z Nation episode 4 Full Metal Zombie

This weeks Z Nation episode was titled Full Metal Zombie. It wasn't one of the best episodes so far, but what was really frustrating for me in this episode was that this episode didn't know when to let a good or amusing idea go. Here are my five takeaways from Full Metal Zombie:

1. The beginning of the show was great. The show had some social commentary to rival The Walking Dead when our heroes encounter a family that they think are being robbed. What the parents have their kids do in order to survive is striking and not something you usually see on TV when it comes to kids and violence. That moment itself surprising and says a lot about the human condition. In my opinion the writers should have left it at that and never showed the family again but for some reason they do, and the family is in a bad way. I don't believe that was necessary.

2. This was one of the funnier episodes. Doc was actually very funny until again a bit about being stuck in an air shaft while smoking a joint carried on too long. Did anyone also notice that the zombie Doc was stuck with looked like him?

3. Bill Moseley's portrayal of a crazy general was great and while a ripoff of the crazy British officer from 28 Days Later (and several other movies), he was quite funny.

4. I guess it's a good thing that 10K has a back story but I truly didn't care. I would have rather he stayed mysterious.

5. The use of a drive-thru speaker and a satellite dish to contact Citizen Z was cute and very reminiscent of an episode of MacGyver.
