Darryl & Merle are the stars of The Walking Dead video game Survival Instinct

This first-person action game allows players to assume the role of the crossbow-wielding survivor Daryl Dixon, alongside his brother Merle, on a haunting, unforgiving quest to make their way to the supposed safety of Atlanta.

The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct takes the undead and brings them out of the TV show and into console gaming systems in a terrifying way. The iconic walkers will relentlessly hunt down players like their television counterparts, using a combination of sight, sound and smell. As Daryl, players will need to tread carefully throughout each new area they explore. Once discovered, it doesn't take much to attract an unstoppable horde of undead walkers, so every threat needs to be assessed, and every situation analyzed. Players will have to choose between whether to stay and fight while risking a gruesome death or using stealth to avoid the undead. No place is truly safe for Daryl as he makes his way through the Georgia countryside in this new, post-apocalyptic world.

Cops: Man shoots girlfriend over 'Walking Dead' argument

Here is one from the WTF file. After an argument about what could cause a zombie apocalypse a man shot his girlfriend when she came to apologize the next day. I am not making this sh** up.

[ SOURCE ] A Williston Park man who shot his girlfriend in the back with a rifle after a heated argument over the television show "The Walking Dead" told police he was annoyed that she came to his apartment to smooth things over.

In a statement to police, Jared M. Gurman, 26, said he told his girlfriend, Jessica Gelderman, 27, also of Williston Park, to leave.

"Jess walked into the room and I fired the gun once and hit her," Gurman said. "She said, 'Oh my God. What did you do?'"

A single round from a .22-caliber semi-automatic rifle pierced Gelderman's lung and diaphragm and shattered her ribs, said Nassau Det. Lt. Raymond Cote, commander of the Third Squad.

Police said Gurman drove his girlfriend to Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, where he was arrested. As of late yesterday, police said Gelderman was in stable condition with the bullet still in her body.

At Gurman's arraignment yesterday in First District Court in Hempstead, his attorney, Edward L. Lieberman of Garden City, entered a not guilty plea on behalf of his client, but outside court he acknowledged that Gurman unintentionally shot his girlfriend.

"The rifle went off accidentally," Lieberman said.

Gurman, of 516 Marcellus Rd., was arraigned on one count of second-degree attempted murder. Nassau District Court Judge Valerie Alexander ordered him jailed without bail.

Gurman and Gelderman, who had been dating for three and half years, went out Sunday night when they began arguing about the show, an AMC thriller featuring zombies in a post-apocalyptic world, Cote said.

"I just know that he felt very adamant that there could be some type of military mishap that would result in some sort of virus or something being released that could cause terrible things to happen," Cote said.

Gelderman, Cote said, thought her boyfriend's belief was absurd.

"She felt that it was ridiculous," Cote said.

The argument escalated, police said, and Gelderman decided not to spend the night at Gurman's apartment and instead went to her parents' home.

Later, the two continued arguing by exchanging text messages, Cote said.

Gelderman became concerned because Gurman had gotten so agitated, police said, and went to his apartment in an attempt to calm him down.

When Gelderman showed up, Gurman said he was sitting on the stairs holding his rifle.

"She tried to defuse the situation and calm him down and told him, 'Let's just go to bed,'" Cote said.

Gurman pointed the rifle and fired one round into the middle of Gelderman's back as she walked up the stairs, said police.

The Man In The Hat. A New Dead War Series Short Story

Hi all. I know you are waiting for The Dead War Book 3: War and I promise it's coming. Until then two short stories will be released. The first is The Man In The Hat a short story based on a piece of flash fiction titled BELOVED that I wrote last month. You may remember it:

BELOVED

Grover looked on as the naked female zombie gnawed on the leg bone of her latest victim. Blood covered her entire body. Well what was left of it any way. Her abdomen had been ripped out and her entrails lay on the floor before her. One of her eyes had been torn out and her lips had been chewed off.

Grover sat quietly in the corner as the zombie soon realized that there was no more to eat. She looked over at Grover. She shrieked and lunged at him.

The chain around her neck yanked her back to the floor. Grover had long ago chained her there. She reached out towards him moaning softly.

Grover smiled. “ Still hungry beloved?”

The zombie moaned loudly and began yanking on the chain.

Grover stood up and put on the poor boy style hat he had been holding in his hands.“ I’ll go get you something else to eat.”

The zombie calmed down and sat as if it were a dog.

Grover looked at her lovingly. “ Till death do us part.”

He turned from her as tears rolled down her face. He started toward the door to getmore “food” for his beloved. THE END

So now I would like to introduce a new Dead War Series Short Story based on BELOVED, The man in the hat. The living dead are not the only monsters out there. 99 cents.

Beloved: Dead War Series Flash Fiction.

Here is another piece of Dead War Series flash fiction. I hope you enjoy. George L. Cook III.

Beloved. Dead War Series Flash Fiction

Warm Bodies may not be that bad.

When I first heard about the concept for the movie Warm Bodies I was immediately turned off. Zombie falls in love with a human. My first thought was "Oh great Twilight with fu**ing zombies.".

After viewing the trailer I have to admit to not giving the movie a fair shake. I still hate the love angle but the concept of zombies being able to become human again intrigued me. So I will now at least go watch the movie first and then blast it...LOL. Check the trailer out below and judge for yourself.

5 Questions from The Walking Dead Season 3 Episode 306 'Hounded'

WARNING! Minor spoilers ahead. If you haven't seen The Walking Dead Season 3 Episode 306 'Hounded' turn back now! You have been warned.

First off episode 306 Hounded was a very good episode except with any scene containing the character of Andrea. The episode left me with quite a few questions.

* Can Andrea have any worse taste in men? First Shane and now The Governor.

* Is Rick finished being bat shit crazy with those beginning to become annoying phone calls?

* Doesn't Glenn know to shoot Merle first and to trust him later?

* Where the fuck has Carol been? Was she hiding in that closet the whole time?

* I guess it was the zombie guts Michonne got all over her earlier in the episode is why the walkers avoided her. I know that's more of an observation than a question bu hey it's my blog.

Check in next week for another 5 questions.

What's up with The Dead War Series Book Three: WAR

Hey everyone this is Dead War Series author George Cook. I know I promised that The Dead War Series Book Three: WAR would be released October 31, 2012. I really wanted to release that book on Halloween but circumstances would not allow that.

I have not yet finished the book because in early October my wife was hit by a car while crossing he street. She had to have surgery to repair a broken clavicle so I have been tending to her, Then when she finally starts to get up and moving around a little bit Hurricane sandy hit.

Sandy knocked out our power for nine days. With gas and food in limited supply you can imagine that finishing a book was not my top priority.

I truly apologize for not having the book out on time but it will be released before the end of the year or early next year.

Just so you now WAR will end the first part of The Dead War Series known to me as the Sgt. Richards trilogy. So expect some big surprises.

Before that I will release a short story titled The Dead War Series: ROUGE that goes into the story of the Special Forces Scouts. It will hint at some of the surprises in The Dead War Series: WAR.

Thank you so much for your continued support. I truly appreciate it.

Sneak peek at first footage from World War Z

Check out this footage from the upcoming ( hopefully ) movie World War Z via Entertainment Tonight.

Actor IronE Singleton of the death of TDog his character on The Walking Dead

[ SOURCE ] IronE Singleton, who played T-Dog, he calls watching the final episode "bittersweet."

"I am totally and completely satisfied with how the show ran. I think that the show was a success of a brilliant team of individuals, everybody coming together doing their part. ... It's not my call to really say that I wanted more or less or anything like that. I'm just so pleased to have been part of something so special, so historical," said Singleton in a conference call with journalists.

"I had no idea I was going to go out so heroically, at the beginning, because when I was first cast in the show I was told that I would do two, maybe three episodes. But I ended up staying on the show for three seasons. So how miraculous is that? So I'm very thankful for that," he said.

"And when I get the phone call, the death call, I call it ... They told me I was going to die and I was looking forward to reading the script. When I read it I was thankful that he would go out heroically. So it made me feel really appreciated," said Singleton.

While Lori was drawn from the comics, T-Dog was a creation for the Walking Dead TV series.
"I think it was very liberating, because as an actor you start with a clean slate and there's nothing more liberating about starting with something that is not written. So you pretty much create the history of that character; you create that character's rigor, meaning that character's life story," he said.

"So whatever you do, whatever you come up with, whatever you decide on, we can go with it, and if the director or if the execs like it, then you'll stick with it. So that's a good thing, as opposed to having something that's already written, that's paired down with who your character is. Then you're kind of sticking in a sense, to a certain extent," said Singleton.

The vampires of The Dead War Series

Hi this is George Cook. If you have read The Dead War Series Book Two: Abomination you know that vampires have been introduced into The Dead War Series world. Here is some more information about The Dead war vampires.

The vampires of The Dead War Series are another form of humanoid that needs human blood to survive. They are not dead and they are not immortal. They do not have the ability to "glamour" or hypnotize humans. They can not transform into other forms such as bats.

Sunlight is lethal to them but in The Dead War World of blackened and burning skies the sunlight is not a worry to them.

They do have the ability to regenerate from injuries and wounds as long as they have enough time to do so.

They can be killed by the traditional methods of staking or beheading but will also die after sustaining excessive and continuous damage to their bodies. The regenerating process can not keep up with their wounds in those circumstances.

The vampires do age but at a slower pace than humans with their average lifespan being 100-150 years from their date of "transformation".

Crucifixes, Holy Water, and sacred ground have no effect on them. They may enter churches and even touch crosses.

A vampire is 3-4 times stronger than an average man and twice as fast. They have very good hearing and extremely good eyesight, especially in the dark.

Until the events of the Dead War the vampires remained hidden in the shadows. Some dispute that and point to a supposed second treaty of Versailles dated 2010 that some say is a treaty between humans and vampires. Very little is known of their culture other than it seems that they have a militaristic hierarchy.

More about the vampires will be learned as The Dead War continues.

The Walking Dead creator believes that the show could survive if original characters are killed off.

When asked in a interview with Collider.com if the show The Walking Dead television show could survive if all of the original characters were killed producers Robert Kirkman and Glen Mazzara had some interesting things to say.

Robert Kirkman

"I honestly do think that the show could survive. Telling stories in this world is an interesting prospect. To a certain extent, this is Rick's story, so something really drastic would have to happen for it to suddenly shift gears, and that might be somewhat jarring. I've always said that this is a very dangerous world that we're telling stories in and, if characters aren't dropping like flies and dying left and right, we just wouldn't be telling a realistic story. So, in an effort to keep things realistic, we are going to be burning through cast, like we have been in the first two seasons. It is an evolving show, and I really like the fact that the cast is cycling. When I see these big marketing images before every season, it's like, 'Here's the cast,' and then the next year, it's like, 'Here's the cast,' and it's always pretty different. I just think that's cool. It shows that you're getting something new this season, which I think is really exciting."

Glen Mazzara

"One of the things we take seriously is the issue of life and death in this season, and what that means for the survivors. So, I do think that the show could suffer any death and still continue. I would never want to have everybody wiped out and come back with a brand new cast. That's a little crazy. We would never do that. But, you show how people survive each other's death and what that means and what that loss is. This is a show that's very much dealing with that."

Dead War Flash Fiction: Transformation

The bites hurt like hell.

Brandon sobbed heavily as blood poured from the three bites on his left arm as he lay with his back up against the wall.

Brandon screamed loudly as he kicked away the dead corpse near his feet. He had bashed the damn things head in with a baseball bat. Sadly he had been bitten before he could get the infected woman off of him.

Brandon screamed out even louder as a black ooze began to flow from his wounds. He could feel his body beginning to convulse. He was becoming one of those things. He was becoming one of the walking dead.

Brandon's whole life began to flash before his eyes as his body convulsed violently. Brandon began to throw up bile and blood as he thrashed around. He shut his eyes as his screams grew louder.

Suddenly his body stopped moving. The pain was gone. Brandon opened his eyes. He no longer saw colors. Everything was in black and white.

He moaned softly. He no longer cared about anything. He only wanted to eat. He only wanted human flesh.

He had become one of the walking dead.

5 stars Horror at its best

My very first time reading this author. I love zombies and this author has done a amazing job of bringing them to bloody life. The "Grays" as they are called amazingly described. In this story you don't know who you should fear most the humans or the grays. Its the army with a twist that is scary good. I tell you one thing I wouldn't want to be a Scout. Read this book to found out why. Can't wait to read part 2. Great job
