[ SOURCE ] AMC is expanding its lucrative Walking Dead franchise.
The cabler announced Monday that it is in the early stages of developing a “companion series” — aka spinoff — to its monster smash, slated to launch in 2015.
Series creator Robert Kirkman will serve as an exec producer on the offshoot, alongside fellow EPs Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert.
“Building on the success of the most popular show on television for adults 18-49 is literally a no-brainer,” said AMC prez Charlie Collier in a statement. “We look forward to working with Robert, Gale and Dave again as we develop an entirely new story and cast of characters. It’s a big world and we can’t wait to give fans another unforgettable view of the zombie apocalypse.”
Added Kirkman: “After 10 years of writing the comic book series and being so close to the debut of our fourth, and in my opinion, best season of the TV series, I couldn’t be more thrilled about getting the chance to create a new corner of The Walking Dead universe. The opportunity to make a show that isn’t tethered by the events of the comic book, and is truly a blank page, has set my creativity racing.”
Consider it a traditional wedding with a zombie twist.
The bride wore a white dress. The ring bearer and flower girl were adorable children who walked down the aisle playing their part. The groom smiled brightly as his bride walked toward him. But all, including the officiant Brian Blair, were covered in gray skin with darkened eyes, fake blood dripping down their face, hair disheveled and clothes worn with holes and rips. They looked like the walking dead. And they were happy about that. Read more: It's a nice day for a Zombie wedding

It took awhile but the surprisingly successful run of World War Z hit another milestone this weekend. According to Boxofficemojo.com World War Z has just crossed the 200 Million dollar mark.
This of course makes it the most successful zombie movie ever. It is also Bard Pitt's highest earning film to date, both domestically and internationally.
Congratulations to Brad Pitt and all involved. They and Paramount took a chance on a genre flick and it paid off big time. so zombie lovers it just proves to all that zombie movies can be blckbusters if done well and if they are supported by zombie fans.
